Job Summary
Bergman Brothers Staffing is hiring Restoration Technicians for water damage, fire damage, and mold remediation projects in the wilmington area. You’ll work on residential and commercial restoration projects, operating extraction equipment, setting up drying systems, and helping property owners recover from disasters. This is a W2 temporary position with weekly pay and opportunities for ongoing work.

Our Charlotte headquarters means North Carolina technicians get local support and fast job placements. NC sees year-round restoration demand from water damage, with increased storm work on the coast. Wilmington and coastal areas offer hurricane season overtime. The Piedmont region (Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro) has steady commercial and residential work.
What You’ll Do
- Extract standing water using pumps, wands, and truck-mounted extraction units
- Set up and monitor drying equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, Injectidry systems)
- Perform mold remediation including containment, HEPA vacuuming, and antimicrobial applications
- Remove and dispose of damaged materials (drywall, flooring, insulation)
- Document damage with photos and moisture readings
- Move, protect, and reset contents and personal belongings
- Construct polyethylene containment enclosures when required
- Maintain equipment and keep vehicles clean and serviceable
- Communicate professionally with property owners and adjusters
- Travel to job sites throughout the wilmington area; occasional overnight travel for storm response
Requirements
Required:
- Previous restoration, construction, or labor experience
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs frequently
- Comfortable working in tight spaces (crawlspaces, attics)
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and travel when needed
- Strong work ethic and sense of urgency
- Professional demeanor and customer service skills
Preferred (Not Required):
- IICRC WRT (Water Restoration Technician) certification
- IICRC FSRT (Fire & Smoke Restoration) certification
- IICRC AMRT (Mold Remediation) certification
- OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Construction
- Experience with Xactimate or restoration software
- Bilingual English/Spanish
Physical Demands
This is physically demanding work. You must be able to lift 50+ lbs frequently, work in confined spaces (crawlspaces, attics), and sustain periods of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling. Work environments may include water-damaged structures, mold-affected areas, and fire/smoke-damaged buildings. Proper PPE is provided and required.
